The Governance Project – a Boston-based, nonprofit economic development firm – is project managing a new, web-based instructional pro forma called GroundUp for real estate development.

GroundUp simplifies the development process as a low-barrier tool to test the feasibility of potential projects. It is designed for both emerging developers and local municipalities exploring the financial performance of a real estate investment.

This free pro forma simplifies the equations with definitions and assumptions, creating a first-pass test to see what it would take to rehabilitate a property in town.
