Making Maine Work Report Series
An action plan for all Mainers
Maine business leaders have continually identified an available, skilled, and educated workforce as a critical element in Maine’s economy. As Maine’s workforce is vital to our economic success and is a strategic focus of both MDF and the State Chamber, MDF has partnered with the Chamber to produce the reports since 2010.
The Making Maine Work series serves as an action plan for improving productivity, what investments are needed in people and infrastructure, and the factors influencing those decisions in order to grow Maine’s economy and ensure a high quality of life for all Maine people. The reports focus on the key factors affecting Maine’s human capital, including the role of Maine’s public university system; investment in early childhood development as a strategy for economic growth; and the quantity and quality of Maine’s workforce.
