November 20th, 2013

AUBURN (WGME) -- Maine business leaders met in Auburn Tuesday morning to discuss and release a report on ways to grow the state's workforce.

Members of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and the Maine Development Foundation released the fourth edition in its "Making Maine Work" series.

The plan is to grow Maine's workforce by 65,000 people by the year 2020.

Focus areas include putting more military veterans and disabled people to work. The report also points out the need for younger workers and an aging population:

The first "Making Maine Work" report was released in 2010. Since then, two other reports focusing on universities and early childhood development have been released. The next report is due out this spring.
