Recruitment
The “open application” period for Leadership Maine runs from
January 1 through March 31 each year. The 16th group, the Pi class, will begin their 2008-2009 educational
experience in June. To receive recruitment information in the future or additional details about the program,

Who Should Apply
Leadership Maine participants include acknowledged leaders
representing the private and public sectors from every region of the
state. Diversity among class members is
critical to the success of the program, and special efforts are made to recruit
from all sectors of the economy, and all regions of the state. No more than half of each class is
represented by business, with the rest equally representing education,
government, non-profits, and others.
Each year, Leadership Maine seeks 40-45 individuals who
have:
- Personal concern
about the future economic health and quality of life in Maine and a commitment to take actions to shape that
future;
- Demonstrated capacity
to lead; and
- A record of accomplishment
within an organization and community endeavors.
