Thank you to all who helped make the 15th Annual Downtown Conference a Success!

If you are starting out in Downtown Revitalization or are well on your way, we have gathered experts from Maine in all Four Points of the National Main Street model to share success stories, best practices and innovations for you to bring back to your community.

The Basics Track focuses on the Main Street Four-Point Approach, taught by our Main Street Directors who are on the street every day in 10 Maine communities. Building Blocks takes you to next steps, communication and historic preservation, while the Innovation track helps you connect new ideas on walkability, resources for businesses, community projects and grants, and how to find your Heart & Soul from the Orton Family Foundation.

KeyNote Speaker: Mike Lydon, Tactical Urbanism

Mike Lydon, CNU-A is an internationally recognized planner, writer, and advocate for livable cities at The Street Plans Collaborative. He is from Maine and learned about downtowns in Gardiner, Damariscotta and Lewiston/Auburn. Mike was the Keynote Speaker April 1st, 2015 at the National Main Street Conference in Atlanta. His work has been featured by NPR, The New York Times, CNN Headline News, The Atlantic Cities and more.  He just released his latest book, Tactical Urbanism, a how-to guide for government leaders, public works officials, and citizens that details how to more quickly and strategically invest in streets and public spaces.

We hope you will join us in beautiful downtown Brunswick, where we start at the First Parish Church, enjoy great breakout sessions, network with others interested in downtowns and have lunch at a downtown restaurant!
